My first “where to” post is about one of my favorite places to camp. In general this post is more about the idea than actual physical location (as my backyard is not open to the public). The idea comes sort of from a great book I read called Acres of Diamonds. If you have read the book, then you probably know where I am going with this, if you haven’t then I will give the general overview. It is about a man who sells his land to go in search of diamonds. In the end he learns that his land that he sold actually contained the diamonds he went to search for. With that said, I have learned that one of my favorite places to camp is my own backyard. I admit that I am fortunate to have several quite acres that our camper is based on. It really wasn’t until the Covid-19 lockdown that Julianne and I realized how great it was to just stay there. During the pandemic we spent many days in the camper and enjoying our land. We had owned it for 4 years before the pandemic and never really explored all it had to offer. We really spent the time to get outside and get closer to each other. We built a beautiful garden, we had bonfires just about ever night and we found a beautiful area by a creek, that surprisingly we had never seen before.
It was amazing to learn what our land had to offer us and how fortunate we were. Like in the book we always went searching for some place with our camper to enjoy and found that we could be just as happy staying right on our property.
In future posts, I will write about areas that we love to go, but I wanted to start with the thought that you do not have to wander many miles to enjoy your RV. You can really just set it up in your driveway and start right at home to make memories with your family. I would love to know your thoughts on how you enjoy your camper and where you like to go. Please leave a comment and share with us your experiences.
